The Dryad of Dueling Oaks

City Park in New Orleans, Louisiana, is home to the world's oldest and most breathtaking collection of live oak trees. Among this vast landscape once stood two imposing oaks, famously known to locals as the “Dueling Oaks.” These trees were infamous for their dark past, with roots steeped in the blood of hundreds who engaged in duels when such customs were widespread throughout the region.

Consumed by grief and anger after her son's untimely death, Hilda Labeaux, a physiolatrist specializing in the worship of nature spirits, seeks assistance from Seraphina, the elusive nymph she knows resides within the last standing Dueling Oak. Determined to find justice, Hilda will stop at nothing, willing even to embrace vengeance if justice proves unattainable, regardless of the cost.
